Honourable chair, esteemed delegates, and most distinguished guests,
Welcome to the 2020 MUN LOCALs conference! We are Kim Jao and Conroy Tan, and we will be serving as your Secretaries-General for this model United Nations conference.
More significant than a mere extracurricular, MUN is about congregating and collaborating with like-minded ambitious peers to proactively evaluate important global issues and debate on ways to solve them. MUN is for the world’s future change makers and leaders, and nothing, not even the novel coronavirus, can stop them. In line with this, we invite both current and aspiring delegates to join our adapted version of the annual MUN LOCALs conference–including both the pre and main conference.
For those who are participating in MUN for their first time, we urge you to speak out and stand up for what you–or your country–believes in. If there’s any place to grow your knowledge on the world, your critical thinking skills, and your ability to speak publicly, it’s here and now.
Sincerely, Conroy Tan and Kim Jao
