SECRETARY GENERALS

Kim Jao, BSM
As a senior at the British School Manila, this LOCALs will be Kim’s last conference (unless MUNA happens), marking the end of her 5 year MUN journey. The outbreak of a global pandemic has undoubtedly tested the boundaries of MUN, and so the executive team of LOCALs is extremely excited to run their adapted version of LOCALs this year. At school, Kim runs the Senior MUN ASA with Conroy where they host weekly kahoots and play with hand sanitiser. When she’s not busy with MUN or iB (which seldom occurs), she enjoys working as the editor-in-chief of BSM’s Winston and napping. Fun fact: Kim ate a whopping sum of 180 chicken nuggets over quarantine and has 20/15 vision.

Conroy Tan, BSM
Conroy is a senior from the British School Manila. Having joined MUN for the first time in 2017, MUN LOCALs 2020 will be his 10th and final high school conference. Looking back, Conroy is surprised to see how far he has come. He recalls the stark trauma of improvising an opening statement as a beginner delegate – as well as the sweaty palms, the weak knees, and the heavy arms that came along with it. But do not fret, he will be saving this riveting origin story for his speech at the beginning of the conference - so stay tuned! Fun fact: Conroy can grow up to 188cm (6’2) on a good day.

Zeki Tan, ISM
Zeki is a senior from International School Manila. After 4 years and 9 conferences, MUN for Zeki has been a journey of flights and falls, of disorderly laughs and ad hominem attacks. Zeki is an Anglophile and finds British politics and history endlessly fascinating; he’ll spend hours discussing it with anyone who’s even remotely interested. Free time as an IB student is as hard to find as dark matter, but when he does find it, he’ll be obsessing over his model plane collection. Shunning contemporary music, Zeki prefers Manila sound - impress him with your knowledge and he’ll do anything for you!
