SC CHAIRS

Isabella Lauchengco, SSM
(President)
A senior hailing from Singapore School Manila, Isa loves all kinds of tea. Milk tea, green tea, thai tea, but above all, she loves sovereignty. ;) Although she has a penchant for taking naps anywhere and everywhere (preferably couches); she thoroughly enjoys participating in extracurricular activities such as MUN, HMCA, and WSC. When she is not crying in the corner about IB or complaining about her workload; Isa enjoys sketching, reading, and playing video games! Seeing as this is her third and final Locals, Isa hopes to impart all her knowledge gained from her four-year career to all of her delegates. She can’t wait to meet you all and make this conference as fun as possible!

Jonathan Koumendakos, BSM
(Deputy President)
Jonathan is a senior hailing from the number-one ranked school in the nation, BSM. Despite not being really interested in debate prior to high school, he has since participated in numerous conferences, both local and international throughout his 3 year MUN ‘career’ and has achieved numerous unanimous resolutions (3), his most famed one being the one where he had to carry his co-delegate Preston ‘Thettipak’ Doll. He is honoured to be chairing in SC, the most 1337 council, and looks forward to meeting new people within his committee. Please don’t be afraid to ask for advice with writing or resolutions or making speeches since I’d be down to help. Add me on CSGO.
ECOSOC CHAIRS

Chris Lim, BSM
(President)
Chris is a junior from the British School Manila with a voracious passion for Model United Nations and global politics. Over the past five years, despite attending several local and international conferences, he has never been in ECOSOC as a chair or delegate, and thus, he is tremendously excited for LOCALS MUN 2021. As the Head Chair of the committee, he hopes to mediate a productive and fruitful discussion about various socioeconomic issues, ranging from trade wars, palm oil plantations, and the HIV epidemic (with occasional memes). He is also thrilled to meet the new batch of young aspiring debaters, while also reuniting with his fellow MUN veteran friends - especially Annie and David.

Timothy Manoloto, ISM
(Deputy President)
A senior with an impetuous demeanour, Timothy possesses an innate passion for World War 2 history, and its implications to-date. Legendary historian A.J.P Taylor claimed “No matter what political reasons are given for war, the underlying reason is always economic”. Having participated in ECOSOC locally and internationally, he recognises ECOSOC’s ability to start or end wars on the basis of economic policies approved. As Deputy Chair, he strives to enhance the ECOSOC delegate experience as diplomats well aware of the socio-economic dilemmas faced by humanity and the importance of consensus building in resolving such matters.

Karina Yu, BA
(Deputy President)
Karina is a senior at the Beacon Academy, and this is her first time chairing. She remains in the incessant state of sleep deprived, but will never fail to crack a witty joke or help you out when you need it. You’ll probably catch Karina either laughing at a dumb dad joke or debating the socio political implications of populism—there really is no in between. She’s a bubble tea addict, an avid doodler, and a tired debater. Karina is looking forward to the conference! Good luck!
HRC CHAIRS

Annie Kim, BISS
(President)
Annie is a senior from Brent International School Subic, and this will be her 4th year in MUN. She loves MUN, especially HRC, because she is extremely passionate about human rights advocacy and education. She has attended various conferences, both locally and internationally. Currently, she is in a serious relationship with IB, but she constantly cheats on him with Kdrama. During her not-so-free time, she likes to call her friends such as Chris and David for ~the tea~ and debate on thoughtful issues such as which percentage of sugar is perfect for milk tea (15-20%!!!!). Also, she likes calculus.

Adrienne Yabut, BA
(Deputy President)
Adrienne otherwise known as Adi is a senior at the Beacon Academy and has been participating in MUN since she was a freshman. She has attended multiple conferences locally and internationally. Aside from MUN and IB, Adi helps to run multiple after school clubs such as the Yearbook, Publications, and the outreach club. With the little spare time Adi has, she likes to bake for her friends, do some art, and sleep. Adi is pretty friendly so don’t hesitate to talk to her for help or anything. She is excited to meet everyone and hopes for a great conference.
WHO CHAIRS

Shuxin Chen, BISM
(President)
“Dreams accompany me when I sleep. If I don’t fulfil them, I lose sleep” - Kun

Greetings and salutations delegates! Shuxin Chen, though preferably addressed as Ami (pronounced as AH-MEE) is honoured to be serving as the President in the Word Health Organization this LOCALS 2020. Ami is a Senior from Brent International School Manila meaning this is her very last Local conference in her 4 year long MUN journey. Ami advises all to enjoy their MUN experience while it lasts and take the most from it. Outside of this all, Ami is a blunt and smol bean. She may not be the most patient person, in fact one would argue she is the least, but she will most definitely be the most motivational.Give her a snack- and she will adore you. Do not be afraid to contact her in regards to anything

Ethan Cua, BSM
(Deputy President)
“That could’ve gone smoother” is the philosophy that Ethan “Slenderman” Cua lives by. Ethan Cua is a senior in British School Manila with a passion for giving service in whatever way he can. He knows what it’s like to mess up after 2 years of delegating, so he knows how intimidating it may feel when delegating in any MUN conference. You can always talk to him if you have any concerns and he would be willing to lend a hand. Feel free to also ask him to provide feedback to any resolutions that you will be planning to submit.
GA1 CHAIRS

Vince Tiu, BSM
(Head Chair)
Vince is a junior from the British School of Manila and this will be his 17th MUN conference. He is extremely excited to be the head chair of GA1, and he hopes to enrich the debating experience of the committee as a whole. He first joined MUN out of curiosity, but since then, his inner drive to keep debating has resulted from the amazing experiences they give. Learning to collaborate with strangers is an invaluable life skill that he thinks everyone should aim to improve at, and he hopes this conference will result in a fruitful learning experience for all!

Lance Tan, SSM
(Deputy Chair)
Lance Tan is a senior from Singapore School Manila. As a passionate debater, Lance enjoys participating in debate oriented events such as MUN, WSC and HMCA. In Lance’s three years of debating, he realized that awards don't define success: it's the memories formed that are what is truly important. These memories may be happy ones like passing your first resolution on your first try (which didn't happen for Lance) or bad ones like being roasted on your first MUN. Apart from debate, Lance also likes to spend his free time playing video games like CSGO, Rainbow Six and League of Legends with Jacob and Isa, or learning more about the field of neuroscience. Although this will most likely be his last conference, Lance looks forward to meeting all the delegates of GA 1 and wishes all of you the best!

Ben Lane, BSM
(Deputy Chair)
Ben is a student at the British School Manila. On weekends he enjoys eating cereal and watching Youtube videos of South East Asian men building pools in the jungle with their bare hands. Much like these brilliant men, he too developed a passion for building, building elaborate MUN resolutions that is. Although some may describe his demeanor during more recent speeches to be ‘as cool as a cucumber’, this was not always the case. However, with the help of various chairs and admins, he was able to rectify this and plans to offer you the same support.
GA3 CHAIRS

Jacob de Jesus, SSM
(Head Chair)
An avid lover of extracurriculars, this WSC Scholar from Singapore School Manila can’t get enough of the fluffy alpacas provided at every round (no seriously they’re so fluffy)! He also takes passion in figure skating and has been dying to skate again ever since quarantine started. While he has no notable MUN stories, this small but terrible senior is more than grateful to be a chair at what might be his final conference. Feel free to approach him at any time for any reason, whether it be for any help or for any casual conversation!

Matthew Chua, BSM
(Deputy Chair)
Matthew is a sophomore at the British School Manila and this is his first time chairing at an MUN Locals conference. He has been involved in MUN for around 5 years and has participated in various conferences. Aside from MUN, Matthew likes playing basketball, golf and football. He also likes playing CSGO and his username is “The Chosen One”. Matthew highly encourages you to add him on steam if you would like to get boosted. Matthew can be described by his peers as an intellectual and can be easily approached during the conference if you have any questions for him. He is eager to meet all of you and wishes for a fruitful debate!

Elijah Han, BISM
(Deputy Chair)
Elijah is a senior from Brent Manila, and this is his 3rd year in MUN since his MUNbaby days in Shanghai. Having entered the Philippine MUN scene only last year in his first Locals conference (and being voted “DISECsiest”- an achievement he is very proud of), this will be his 2nd and last LOCALs conference. As an aspiring diplomat extremely passionate about global politics, he is excitedly honored and honorably excited to serve as deputy chair in this year’s conference. When he’s not busy banging his gavel, he’s either eating Japanese food or playing coke pong with the lads. Have fun, delegates, and as a wise man once said, “roast unhesitatingly, and always continue the discussion in note form.”
GA4 CHAIRS

Anagha Chakravati, ISM
(Head Chair)
Anagha is a senior from International School Manila. She has been participating in MUN since freshman year. Having been a delegate in several locals and international conferences like THIMUN Singapore, she is excited to finally be a chair in the GA4 committee. Anagha is a social science enthusiast- taking IB classes like Economics, and Politics in addition to being involved in MUN. Her interests include playing badminton, and volunteer work. She used to sing and paint but has since quit because of the IB workload. Do not hesitate to talk to Anagha, especially if it is about IB struggles. Have a great conference!

Nick Ng, BSM
(Deputy Chair)
Nick is a junior at the British School Manila and this will be his first time chairing an MUN conference so please don’t judge him! Nick began MUN three years ago and attended local and international MUN conferences. Aside from writing research reports or participating in MUN debate, Nick enjoys playing tennis, piano, baking and watching TV shows such as MasterChef and Survivor. Nick hopes to pass on his previous experience to his fellow delegates during the conference. Please feel free to ask Nick questions as he’s not scary due to his twig stature. Nick looks forward to meeting you all and wishes you all the best!

Sarah Bejleri, BSM
(Deputy President)
Sarah is a sophomore from the British School Manilla and has been taking part in MUN for about five years now, in both local and international conferences. Outside debates, Sarah’s hobbies include sports, such as football and swimming, as well as listening to music. Priding herself in being friendly, she’s always up for a chat so don’t be afraid to approach her. Although the pandemic has slightly altered and pushed back plans for the conference, Sarah is just as eager, if not more, and is honoured for the opportunity to be a deputy president for HRC and to meet everyone!
GA6 CHAIRS

David Ramos, Southville
(Head Chair)
Originating from the land of maple syrup and snow, David a senior from Southville International School is tremendously excited to serve you all as the head chair of GA 6 (Legal). Ever since David was a tiny lad he has always had the passion for debate and recently international relations as well. This will be his 3rd and final year in MUN and last locals and is surprised on how far he has gotten in a club he joined to make friends in his new country. When not being a lazy gamer boy, David is usually found on a basketball court or golf course. If you see him in the corner making tiktoks with Annie and Chris feel free to say howdy~.

Dylan Yu, BSM
(Deputy Chair)
Dylan is a senior from the wonderful British School Manila and has been a part of MUN for a whopping 5 years! Throughout his arduous MUN journey, he has participated in countless local and international conferences and has developed a burning passion for debate, alongside his astonishing 100% resolution passing rate. In his downtime, he enjoys playing with calculators and immersing himself in the marvelous world of CS:GO, as he carries his pitiful GN teammate Jonathan “Gumbemy64” Koumendakos. Although it will be his first time, he is immensely excited to chair for the future lawyers of GA6!

Arabelle Sunga, BA
(Deputy Chair)
A senior at the Beacon Academy, Ara is ecstatic to be chairing for GA 6 this year. While she only started participating in MUN last school year, she has navigated her way around the ins and outs of MUN through the local and international conferences she has participated in previously. When she is not busy trying to copy notes for Business, Ara is either working with her various organizations or making Tiktoks with her dog. If you hear an obnoxiously loud laugh from across the hall, make sure to turn around and walk the other way because she’ll probably tell you the corny joke she just thought of.
